Our Frequently Asked Questions

On our FAQ page, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our custom hardwood flooring, installation, refinishing services, wide plank flooring, and more.

  • Why choose hardwood flooring for my home or business?

Hardwood flooring provides several benefits, including timeless beauty, durability, and value. It enhances aesthetic appeal, lasts for generations, and often increases the resale value of your home or property.

  • What is included in your hardwood flooring installation service?

Our hardwood flooring installation service covers everything from assessing the space and helping you choose the right wood to completing a high-quality installation. We ensure a seamless process and long-lasting results.

  • How long does the installation process take?

The installation timeline varies depending on the size and complexity of the project. Most projects are completed within a few days to a week. We will work closely with you to provide an estimated timeframe and help you understand the project timeline.

  • Do you offer wide plank flooring options?

Yes, we specialize in wide plank flooring to give your space a rustic yet sophisticated look. Wide planks are perfect for bringing a unique charm to any room.

  • What is hardwood floor refinishing?

Refinishing involves sanding down the old surface of your hardwood floors to remove scratches and wear, followed by applying a new finish. It’s a cost-effective way to restore the beauty of your flooring without replacing it.

  • How often should I refinish my hardwood floors?

This depends on the wear and tear that your floors experience. On average, refinishing is recommended every 7-10 years, but higher-traffic areas may require more frequent attention.

  • Can refinishing change the color of my hardwood floors?

Yes, refinishing provides an opportunity to change the stain color of your hardwood floors, giving your space an updated look that suits your aesthetic preferences.

  • How do I care for my hardwood floors?

Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dust and debris, use a damp (not wet) mop with a hardwood-safe cleaner, avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners to maintain the finish, and place mats at entryways to minimize wear from dirt and moisture.

Yes, we specialize in installing only real hardwood floors.

  • How do I know if my hardwood floors need refinishing or repair?

Several signs can indicate that your hardwood floors need attention. Refinishing is often the right solution when the finish has worn away but the wood itself remains structurally sound. Common signs your floors may need refinishing include dull, faded, or worn-looking surfaces; light scratches and scuff marks; discoloration from sunlight or aging; water spots that have not deeply penetrated the wood; or areas where the finish is peeling or worn thin. Repair may be necessary if you notice deep scratches or gouges; loose, cracked, or broken boards; water damage causing warping or cupping; gaps between planks; or soft or rotting wood.

  • Can damaged hardwood floors be repaired instead of replaced?

Yes, in many cases damaged hardwood floors can be repaired without replacing the entire floor. Repairs are often a cost-effective solution when the damage is limited to specific areas. Common hardwood floor repairs include replacing individual damaged boards; repairing scratches, dents, and gouges; fixing loose or squeaky floorboards; addressing minor water damage; and filling gaps and cracks. After repairs are completed, refinishing the affected area—or the entire floor—can help restore a uniform appearance. Full replacement is usually only necessary when there is extensive structural damage, widespread water damage, or the flooring has been refinished too many times to be sanded again.

  • How long does hardwood floor refinishing take?

The timeline for hardwood floor refinishing depends on the size of the area, the condition of the floors, and the type of finish being applied. In most cases, the refinishing process takes 3 to 5 days from start to finish. While the floors may be ready for light foot traffic within a day or two after the final coat, it's generally recommended to wait several days before moving furniture back and longer before placing rugs. A professional assessment can provide a more accurate timeline for your specific project.

  • Do you offer dustless hardwood floor sanding?

Yes, all our machines are dustless, running on vacuums to protect the air quality in your home or business.
